SHERIDAN, WYOMING – July 2, 2024 – Continental, a global leader in tire and automotive technology, today announced a strategic partnership with Samsara, a pioneer in industrial Internet of Things (IoT) solutions. This collaboration aims to revolutionize fleet management by integrating Continental’s advanced tire sensor data with Samsara’s comprehensive telematics platform, providing fleet operators with unparalleled insights into trailer health, efficiency, and utilization.

The integration of Continental’s in-tire sensors, which monitor tire pressure and mileage, with Samsara’s trailer telematics data, will deliver a holistic view of trailer performance. This comprehensive data set will enable fleet managers to proactively address maintenance needs, optimize tire lifespan, improve fuel efficiency, and enhance overall fleet safety.

“This partnership with Samsara represents a significant advancement in our commitment to providing fleet customers with data-driven solutions that drive tangible business results,” said Clarisa Doval, Head of Digital Solutions at Continental Tires. “By combining our expertise in tire technology with Samsara’s industry-leading telematics platform,we are empowering fleet operators to make more informed decisions, streamline operations, and achieve significant cost savings.”

The integrated solution, facilitated by Continental’s third-party integration capabilities and Samsara’s open API, is designed to seamlessly integrate into existing fleet management workflows. Fleet managers will have access to real-time tire and trailer data through Samsara’s intuitive dashboard, enabling them to identify potential issues before they escalate, schedule preventive maintenance, and optimize trailer allocation.

The partnership was unveiled at the Samsara Beyond 2024 event in Chicago, where Doval participated in a panel discussion on innovations in trailer technology. The collaboration aligns with Continental’s “Lowest Overall Driving Costs” (LODC) concept, which emphasizes a holistic approach to minimizing fleet expenses.

“We are excited to partner with Continental to deliver a truly integrated solution that addresses the unique challenges faced by fleet operators,” said a spokesperson for Samsara. “By leveraging the power of data and connectivity, we are confident that this partnership will drive significant value for our customers and set a new standard for fleet management innovation.”

This strategic alliance between Continental and Samsara underscores the growing importance of data-driven solutions in the transportation industry. As fleet operators increasingly seek to optimize their operations and reduce costs, the integration of tire and trailer telematics is poised to play a pivotal role in achieving these goals.
