SHERIDAN, WYOMING – Dec. 29, 2024 – FAW Jiefang, the commercial vehicle subsidiary of FAW Group, has announced the official launch of its cutting-edge 6DV super factory in Dalian, Liaoning province, China. This state-of-the-art facility will significantly boost FAW Jiefang's production capacity and spearhead the development of environmentally friendly commercial vehicles.
6DV Super Factory: A Green Manufacturing Powerhouse
The 6DV super factory, which broke ground in July 2022, represents a substantial investment of 620 million yuan. With an annual production capacity of 50,000 engines, the factory is poised to meet the growing demand for FAW Jiefang's commercial vehicles.
The facility is designed with a strong emphasis on sustainability, utilizing green and energy-saving technologies to minimize its environmental impact. These technologies will help reduce carbon emissions by 9,249.54 tonnes and hazardous waste emissions by 106.5 tonnes annually.
CA6HV3: China's First Direct-Injection Hydrogen Engine for Heavy Commercial Trucks
Coinciding with the factory launch, FAW Jiefang also unveiled its groundbreaking CA6HV3 hydrogen engine. This independently developed engine marks a significant milestone for China's automotive industry, being the first direct-injection hydrogen engine designed specifically for heavy commercial trucks.
The CA6HV3 engine boasts impressive environmental credentials, achieving zero carbon emissions during operation. It also sets new standards in performance, with its thermal efficiency leading the way in China and its B10 life—a measure of engine durability—at the forefront of the automotive industry.
