Celebrating the Lancia Stratos Gr.4 Alitalia (1974)
The Lancia Stratos Gr.4 Alitalia (1974) takes center stage, celebrating the 50th anniversary of its 1975 World Rally title. This model, adorned with its unforgettable white-red-green Alitalia livery, is a testament to Lancia’s rally prowess. “The spotlight will be on the extraordinary Lancia Stratos Gr.4 Alitalia (1974) which won the 1976 Rally de Portugal and placed second in the 1977 Monte Carlo Rally,” according to the Autoworld Museum. Sporting director Cesare Fiorio’s vision led to the creation of a car designed solely for rally victories. The Stratos, with its wedge-shaped body designed by Marcello Gandini for Bertone and a 2.4-liter six-cylinder Ferrari engine, dominated the rally world until the mid-1970s. Produced in the official race version, with power reaching up to 300 hp, the Stratos secured three consecutive World Rally Constructors’ Championships from 1974 to 1976, three Monte Carlo rallies, three European Drivers' Championships, and the FIA Rally Drivers World Cup in 1977 with Sandro Munari.
The Legendary Lancia Delta HF Integrale Group A (1992)
Also on display is the legendary Lancia Delta HF Integrale Group A (1992), a vehicle that captured the hearts of motorsport enthusiasts worldwide. Equipped with all-wheel drive and a series of technical advancements, the Delta HF Integrale won six World Constructors’ Championships and four World Rally Drivers’ Championships. “The four generations of the all-wheel-drive Lancia Delta HF introduced between 1986 and 1992 were destined to leave the competition in the dust and lead to a legendary run of Rally victories,” the museum states. This model contributed to Lancia’s impressive record of 46 overall victories in various World Championship editions. The Delta HF series saw continuous enhancements, with each generation featuring improved engines and bodywork. The Delta HF 4WD, debuting in 1987, featured permanent all-wheel drive and a 165-horsepower engine. The Delta HF Integrale, introduced in 1988, boasted widened wheel arches and larger air intakes, while the Delta HF Integrale 16V, launched in 1989, featured a 295-hp engine and numerous technological innovations. The Delta HF Integrale 16V Evoluzione, the final model in this series, showcased further refinements and a powerful engine exceeding 300 horsepower.
