SHERIDAN, WYOMING – Dec. 4, 2024 – The Vauxhall Movano HYDROGEN has been named Editor's Choice at the prestigious 2025 What Van? Awards, recognizing its innovative hydrogen fuel cell technology and practical benefits for businesses. This accolade highlights Vauxhall's commitment to providing sustainable and efficient transportation solutions for the commercial vehicle market.
Awarded for Innovation and Practicality
The Vauxhall Movano HYDROGEN has been named Editor’s Choice at the 2025 What Van? Awards, recognising its innovative hydrogen technology and practical benefits for businesses across the UK.
The What Van? Awards celebrate the best in the light commercial vehicle (LCV) industry, and the Editor's Choice award is reserved for vehicles that demonstrate exceptional innovation and practicality. The Movano HYDROGEN impressed the judges with its ability to combine zero-emission driving with long range, fast refueling, and impressive payload capacity.
Zero-Emission Driving with Long Range
The Movano HYDROGEN is Vauxhall's latest addition to its electric and hydrogen vehicle lineup. This fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) offers a range of up to 311 miles (WLTP), making it ideal for businesses with long-distance transportation needs. Refueling the 7kg hydrogen fuel tanks takes just five minutes, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
Powerful Performance and Efficient Technology
The Movano HYDROGEN's electric motor produces 110kW (150hp) and 410Nm of torque, providing ample power for demanding tasks. An 11kWh lithium-ion battery supports starting and acceleration, while regenerative braking helps to recharge the battery and extend the vehicle's range.
Meeting the Needs of Businesses
James Dallas, Editor of What Van?, commented on the Movano HYDROGEN's suitability for the commercial market: “Stellantis came early to market with a medium-sized Hydrogen van but has now responded to customer demand to adapt the technology to large vans, where, in terms of loading capacity and range, it makes more sense. For long-distance operators’ hydrogen could be a better fit than battery electric technology. In the UK, the group will market its large hydrogen van under a single brand, which is synonymous with the domestic market. The Winner of the Editor’s Choice Award is the Vauxhall Movano Hydrogen.”
James Taylor, Managing Director of Vauxhall, expressed his enthusiasm for the award: “To be recognised as the Editor’s Choice at the What Van? Awards this year showcases Vauxhall’s commitment to innovation and supporting businesses on their journey to sustainable mobility. The Movano HYDROGEN is designed to meet the specific needs of businesses looking for zero-emission solutions without compromising on range or payload and perfectly complements our existing line-up of battery electric vans. With a 311-mile range, fast refuelling, and outstanding practicality, it’s ideal for customers who need a dependable, sustainable option. As the UK’s best-selling electric van manufacturer for the past three years, we’re excited to build on this success and look forward to the Movano HYDROGEN arriving in the UK next year.”
Expanding Vauxhall's Electric Vehicle Lineup
The Movano HYDROGEN joins Vauxhall's growing lineup of electric vans, which includes the Combo Electric, Vivaro Electric, and Movano Electric. Vauxhall has been a leader in offering electric versions of its LCV models, and the Movano HYDROGEN further strengthens its commitment to sustainable mobility solutions.
Building on Hydrogen Expertise
The Movano HYDROGEN benefits from over 20 years of experience in hydrogen fuel cell technology development within Vauxhall-Opel and Stellantis. This expertise ensures that the Movano HYDROGEN is a reliable and technologically advanced solution for businesses seeking to reduce their environmental impact.
