Peugeot Partner Turns 30 With Its Smartest Version Yet — Meet the Partner Active

SHERIDAN, WYOMING – June 24, 2026 – Thirty years after the first Peugeot Partner rolled out of the factory, the French brand is marking the anniversary with something more than a badge and a birthday cake. Peugeot has just launched the Partner Active, a brand-new variant of its compact van built specifically around how professionals actually use these vehicles — alone, for most of the day, with no passenger needed and nowhere near enough space for the things they carry. For tradespeople, sole traders and small business operators, this is the version of the Partner that was always missing.

Why Peugeot Built This

The Partner Active didn't come from a design brief cooked up in a boardroom. Peugeot's research showed that 40% of compact van users have no interest in a three-seat configuration, and that drivers spend around 90% of their working hours alone behind the wheel. That's a significant chunk of the market being sold something they don't actually need. The Partner Active is the direct response — strip out the extra seating, rethink the interior, and put the space to better use.

The exterior keeps the Peugeot shield up front, and the cabin has been completely redesigned. Dashboard, door panels, ergonomics — all reworked to make a solo working environment feel less like a leftover passenger car and more like something purpose-built.

The Flexiseat Is the Thing to Know

The centrepiece of the Partner Active is an innovation called Flexiseat. It's a modular passenger seat whose cushion folds vertically, freeing up an extra 0.5 m³ of load volume inside the cabin. That's meaningful space in a vehicle this size. And when you don't need the extra room, the seat goes back to its standard position with all functions intact.

Pair the Flexiseat with the optional Modutable — a sliding table top that converts the seat into a proper desk or dining surface — and the front of the van starts functioning more like a mobile office than a cargo hold. The Modutable stores in a bag that attaches to the cargo area when not in use.

A Cabin Full of Clever Add-Ons

Beyond the Flexiseat, Peugeot has developed a suite of modular extras that can be added or swapped depending on the job. The Moduconsole is a central console with a cup holder and closed storage for tablets, tools, phones and documents. It snaps in or out in seconds. The Dashbox adds two more closed storage compartments plus a cup holder at dashboard level. For anything valuable, the Drivedrawer is a lockable drawer under the driver's seat that keeps laptops and sensitive kit out of sight and secure.

The Moduwork option brings back a third centre seat — but when it's not carrying a person, it converts into storage, a large table, or folds flat to extend the load bay for long items. There's also a 220V socket positioned alongside it, which means powering a laptop or tablet from inside the van without any adaptors.

Two Sizes, Four Powertrains

The Partner Active comes in standard (4.40 m) and long (4.75 m) body styles, with a load volume up to 4.4 m³ and payload up to 1,000 kg depending on powertrain. There's a 110 hp petrol option, diesel engines at 100 hp or 130 hp, all with manual gearboxes, and — most notably for urban tradespeople — a fully electric variant with a 42 kWh battery and a WLTP combined range of up to 270 km. A mild-hybrid powertrain is due to be added next year. The entire range also comes covered by the Peugeot CARE programme, which extends warranty protection to up to 8 years or 160,000 kilometres.
