Erin Andrews Fronts New Campaign on Women's Cancer Awareness

New York – September 20, 2026 -- Mediaplanet has launched its Women vs. Cancer campaign, published Sunday, September 20, within the Los Angeles Times, focusing on symptom awareness, earlier detection and advances in treatment for women's cancers.

Erin Andrews shares her cervical cancer story on the cover

ESPN broadcaster and cervical cancer survivor Erin Andrews serves as the campaign's cover feature, detailing her diagnosis and treatment experience. She emphasizes listening to one's body, keeping up with recommended screenings, and speaking up when something feels wrong.

Leading cancer organizations contribute expert perspectives

The campaign includes insights from the Society of Gynecologic Oncology, Foundation for Women's Cancers, Milken Institute Women's Health Network, National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) and National Ovarian Cancer Coalition. Their contributions cover prevention, diagnosis, precision care, research and survivorship.

Shannon Ruggiero, Senior Director of Health Campaigns at Mediaplanet, said the initiative brings together survivors, experts and organizations to highlight progress in women's cancer care while reinforcing the value of early detection and informed conversations with healthcare providers.

More than 2,500 extra copies will reach cancer communities this fall

Beyond its Los Angeles Times distribution, the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition will distribute over 2,500 additional copies at its Together in TEAL Run/Walks through the fall. The Foundation for Women's Cancer will hand out copies at its Race to End Women's Cancer and Patient & Advocate Education Forum in Washington, D.C., held the same day as the launch, September 20.

The campaign is available in the September 20, 2026, issue of the Los Angeles Times and online through Mediaplanet's digital platform.
