Austin – September 18, 2026 -- Bruce Bolt, the brand known for reshaping the baseball batting glove market, is launching its first football gear on October 12, with a skill glove and arm sleeve priced from $60 to $85.
The BOLTGRIP SYSTEM pairs a skill glove with the first SFIA-approved tackified arm sleeve.
The two products are designed to work together, extending tackified material from the palm up through the forearm and bicep to create three connected grip points for catching, carrying and protecting the ball.
Bear Mayer says the expansion fulfills a longtime personal goal.
"Although I grew up playing baseball, football has always been a deep passion of mine, and expanding into the sport is something I've wanted to do for a long time," said Bear Mayer, Founder and CEO of Bruce Bolt. The company previously moved into golf gloves last summer, nearly a decade after entering baseball.
The skill glove uses anatomical finger stalls and a lock-down wrist for a locked-in fit.
Inverse stitching removes exposed seams, turf-burn-resistant materials improve abrasion resistance, and a structured-lattice back of hand combines poly-spandex construction with a silicone lattice for lightweight support. The BOLTGRIP Palm material is rated highest for tackiness among SFIA-compliant options.
The arm sleeve adds medical-grade 15 mmHg graduated compression alongside its tackified surfaces.
Seamless circular-knit construction is built to maintain consistent compression and prevent bunching at full speed. SFIA approval confirms the sleeve meets recognized tackiness standards for sanctioned play.
Young elite recruits are already wearing the gear ahead of launch.
Athletes include running back Carter Nash, cornerback Donte Wright, wide receiver Osani Gayles and wide receiver Khalil Taylor. "When you're competing at full speed, the last thing you want is to think about your glove shifting, restricting your movement or getting in the way," said Nash.
