Xenia – September 25, 2026 -- Cyclists, families and history enthusiasts can register now for the United Way Americana 250 Cycling Classic, a new fundraising ride set for Sunday, Oct. 11, at the Greene County Fairgrounds and Expo Center in Xenia, Ohio.
The inaugural event, part of the Tour de Gem Cycling Series, runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and offers four routes: the 10-mile Liberty Ride for families, the 25-mile Pioneer Expedition, the 40-mile Heritage Quest, and the 64-mile Patriot Tour, a metric century connecting several Greene County communities. All rides begin and end at the fairgrounds, located at 120 Fairground Road.
Greene County's paved trail network anchors the route selection
Organizers chose Greene County as the event's centerpiece because it hosts the largest paved trail network in the nation, according to the announcement.
The free Heritage Hub adds festivities beyond the ride
While cyclists pay a registration fee, the on-site Heritage Hub is free and open to the public. It features food trucks, vendor displays, demonstrations and a Young Explorer Zone with a bike course built for small children.
Proceeds fund United Way programs across three counties
All proceeds benefit the United Way of the Greater Dayton Area, supporting youth opportunity, financial security, health and community resiliency programs in Montgomery, Greene and Preble counties.
"This event is a celebration of community, history and healthy living," said Tom Kelley, President and CEO of the United Way of the Greater Dayton Area. He added that organizers hope it becomes a signature event for Greene County and the Miami Valley region.
Sponsorships and vendor booths remain open ahead of the event
Businesses can still secure sponsorship levels ranging from major corporate partnerships to rest-stop sponsorships, along with vendor spaces in multiple sizes. Confirmed sponsors include The Dayton Foundation, Wagner Subaru, Kettering Health Network, Trek Dayton, CareSource, Greene County Convention and Visitors Bureau, GLD Communications, Warriors On Wheels, and the Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission.
