Houston – October 07, 2026 -- The public television series "All Access with Andy Garcia" is filming an educational segment at Skydive Spaceland Houston on October 9, 2026, documenting the experience of a first tandem jump and the community built around the sport.
The segment follows jumpers from first leap to solo license
The episode will track the preparation, training, and personal responsibility behind a skydive, while also examining what draws some first-timers back for repeat jumps and formal training. Skydive Spaceland's Skydiver Training Program allows students to earn a solo skydiving license in as little as 4 to 7 days, or at a self-paced schedule.
Skydive Spaceland has expanded from one Houston site to four locations
Founded by the Boyd family in 2000, Skydive Spaceland started in Houston and has since grown to four full-time skydiving centers across Texas and South Florida. The Houston location operates out of Rosharon, Texas, and all sites run daily schedules serving both first-time tandem jumpers and licensed skydivers.
Founder says the sport's social bonds outlast the adrenaline
"We often say you come for the skydive, but you stay for the people," said Steve Boyd, Sr., founder and owner of Skydive Spaceland. He added that skydivers tend to quickly become a chosen family. The segment will highlight relationships formed between jumps, as students, instructors, and returning skydivers share their experiences on the ground.
