Arlington – September 11, 2026 -- Six Flags Entertainment Corporation has acquired ArieForce One, the acclaimed steel roller coaster that closed at Fun Spot America Atlanta in August, and will reinstall it at one of its parks during the 2028-2029 seasons.
The coaster built a cult following in just three years
ArieForce One opened March 31, 2023, in Fayetteville, Georgia, and closed August 2, 2026. Manufactured by Rocky Mountain Construction, it stood 154 feet tall, dropped 146 feet, reached 64 mph and ran roughly 3,400 feet of track with four inversions over about two minutes. Its signature elements included the world's largest zero-gravity stall, a Raven Truss Dive and an outward-banked airtime hill.
Six Flags will keep the coaster's name and legacy intact
The ride was named by Fun Spot America in honor of company founder John Arie Sr. Six Flags confirmed it will retain the ArieForce One name at its new location. "When we built ArieForce One, we wanted to create something truly special," said John Arie Jr, CEO of Fun Spot America, adding that seeing it preserved with Six Flags "means a great deal to me and my family."
The final destination remains a closely guarded secret
Six Flags has not disclosed which of its parks will receive the coaster, a decision executives expect to fuel intense speculation. "The passion surrounding ArieForce One is unlike anything we've seen in recent years," said Mark Pauls, chief operating officer of Six Flags, noting that fans will "immediately begin theorizing" about its next home.
Enthusiast groups call the deal a preservation win
Derek Perry, president-elect of American Coaster Enthusiasts, said the organization's more than 7,000 members had spent months wondering if the ride would survive. "Today's announcement answers one question and opens the door to another," Perry said, adding that ACE expects speculation over the new location to be "enormous."
Six Flags operates more than 250 roller coasters across its portfolio, including Fury 325, Top Thrill 2, Millennium Force, Leviathan, El Toro, The Beast and Tormenta. Construction timeline and reopening details for ArieForce One will be announced later.
