Hangzhou – September 10, 2026 -- Hoymiles has launched a 22 kW DC V2X charger designed to plug into its HiOne All-in-One battery energy storage system, letting homeowners link solar panels, home batteries, electric vehicles and the grid into a single controllable energy setup.
The charger turns parked EVs into backup power sources
The V2X charger supports bidirectional charging, meaning a connected EV can supply power back into the house through Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) mode during outages. It also enables Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) participation, letting households shave peak demand and take part in virtual power plant programs. An integrated EU MID-certified meter tracks electricity flow for accurate monitoring.
DC charging cuts conversion losses and charging time
Unlike AC chargers that rely on a vehicle's onboard charger to convert AC to DC, the Hoymiles V2X sends direct current from solar panels and the home battery straight to the EV, skipping that conversion step and reducing energy loss. At its 22 kW output, the charger adds roughly 110 km of driving range per hour, compared with about 35 km per hour from a standard AC charger. Hoymiles says the unit is compatible with 95% of mainstream electric vehicles on the market.
The unit is built for outdoor, everyday parking spots
Designed as a standalone charger, the V2X can be mounted near a parking space independently of the HiOne battery unit, giving homeowners flexibility in where they place each component. It carries an IP65 rating against dust and water and an IK10 rating for impact resistance, aimed at withstanding outdoor use and accidental knocks.
One app now controls solar, storage and EV charging
The V2X integrates into the same app-based platform Hoymiles uses for its home energy products, giving users a single interface to monitor and manage generation, storage and vehicle charging together. The app offers a choice between a green power mode and a fast-charging mode depending on the situation.
