Cupertino – October 21, 2026 -- Apple has introduced HomeView, a 7-inch Liquid Retina smart home display that recognizes up to six people by face. Pre-orders start today, and the device ships November 13.
Two designs: a tabletop model and a wall-mounted model
The tabletop HomeView pairs an aluminum-framed display with a domed speaker base through a stainless steel hinge that tilts the screen. It comes in silver, starlight, rose pink and space gray, each with a matching cable.
A separate wall-mounted model, available in space gray and silver, has the same display. It attaches with three purpose-built mounts from Schneider Home, and buyers can install it themselves or hire a professional.
Automatic brightness runs from 500 nits down to 0.3 nits for nightstand use. The interface shows simpler information from across the room and more detail as users step closer.
Each of six users gets a personal Home Screen
Every recognized user gets their own apps and widgets, with access to Messages, FaceTime, Calendar, Reminders and Find My. Personal content stays private, while shared photo albums and music remain open to everyone in the household, including guests.
Siri AI answers general questions and draws on iPhone context
HomeView runs Siri AI, a new version of Siri built on the next generation of Apple Intelligence. Anyone in the home can ask it about virtually any topic. Paired with an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad, it can also pull from Messages, Calendar and Apple Music playlists. Conversations started on HomeView continue in the Siri app on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch or Apple Vision Pro.
Users without an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad still get Siri AI's world knowledge, natural conversation and improved music discovery.
Two drivers, a woofer and passive radiators fill the room
The display houses two custom full-range drivers for Spatial Audio. The base adds a down-firing woofer and two force-cancelling passive radiators. HomeView plays Apple Music with animated album art and lyrics, plus Apple Podcasts, Apple News, Apple TV and compatible third-party apps. Multiroom audio works with HomePod, HomePod mini and AirPlay-compatible speakers.
Photos, Flow and Snoopy faces let users customize the screen. A shared album can turn HomeView into a photo frame that family members add to.
The home dashboard streams up to nine camera feeds
Users can view cameras, adjust the thermostat and lights, lock doors and close blinds by touch or voice. The Home Camera face livestreams up to nine feeds at once. With a supported iCloud+ subscription and compatible cameras, HomeView recognizes people, familiar faces, pets, packages and vehicles with end-to-end encryption. It also detects smoke and carbon monoxide alarms and alerts users on iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch.
HomeView also works with Apple Home Collection, a new lineup of cameras, thermostats and a lock designed with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric, as well as Matter accessories.
