Maven Pet's Companion AI Flags Dog Health Shifts Early

New York – October 13, 2026 -- Maven Pet has launched Companion, an AI assistant inside its app that is available now to all subscribers for $167.92 a year, hardware included.

Owners already lean on chatbots for pet health

A Talker Research survey of 2,000 pet owners found that 43% use tools like ChatGPT for pet health information, about seven times a week. Six in ten (59% in the survey's headline figure) changed their pet's care as a result. Maven Pet points out that those tools have never met the dog and answer from the internet, not from the individual animal.

Companion reads up to 25 million data points a day

Companion draws on vitals, sleep, activity and behavior captured by Maven Pet's dog health sensor, up to 25 million data points a day. It also uses the dog's profile and anything the owner logs, and it judges all of it against that dog's own normal.

The assistant speaks first, often days before an owner notices a change. Maven Pet cites two examples: a respiratory rate creeping up in a senior dog, and a diabetic dog drinking more than usual.

125,000 proactive insights delivered so far

Maven Pet says it has delivered more than 125,000 proactive health insights to date. The most common involve ear, skin and allergy changes, followed by cardiac and respiratory shifts.

Owner input changes how Companion interprets later readings. Examples include a rise in water intake weeks after a new medication starts, or a vet visit recommended when respiratory rate climbs.

CEO and co-founder Guilherme Coelho said the app is meant to replace guesswork with continuous monitoring and alerts the moment something shifts, answering from the pet's own data rather than the internet.
