San Diego – September 10, 2026 -- Sony Electronics has expanded its wireless headphone lineup with three new models spanning premium, mid-range, and entry-level price points, giving shoppers more choices ahead of the holiday season.
The WH-1000XM4C brings flagship noise cancelling to a new color
The WH-1000XM4C, described as a second-generation version of the popular WH-1000XM4, keeps Sony's 1000X Series noise cancellation and premium sound while adding a new 10-band equalizer and updated sound tuning. It comes in Black, Platinum Silver, and a new Lavender option, though Lavender is sold only through Sony and Amazon. The headphones will be available this fall for $299.99 USD ($429.99 CAD) at Sony, Amazon, Best Buy, and other authorized retailers.
WH-CH730N adds noise cancelling at a lower price
The WH-CH730N targets commuters and hybrid workers with Dual Noise Sensor noise cancellation, a lighter foldable design, and improved call quality over its predecessor. Sony says the model delivers up to 50 hours of battery life with noise cancellation on, with a quick charge feature adding one hour of playback in three minutes. It ships now in Black, White, Pink, and Blue, with a new Oat color exclusive to Sony and Amazon, priced at $179.99 USD ($249.99 CAD).
WH-CH530 is Sony's entry-level pick with 55-hour battery life
The WH-CH530 rounds out the update as a lightweight, on-ear option aimed at first-time wireless headphone buyers, online learners, and everyday listeners. Sony lists up to 55 hours of battery life, a five-step volume limiter for hearing protection, and AI noise reduction for calls. The headphones come in six colors -- Black, Cobalt, White, Pink, Coral, and Mint -- with Coral and Mint available only through Sony and Amazon. Pricing is set at $69.99 USD ($99.99 CAD).
Masaaki Hori, Sony Electronics' vice president of personal entertainment, said the WH-1000XM4C reflects continued demand for a headphone recognized for its balance of noise cancelling, sound quality, and comfort, adding that the new lineup gives consumers clearer options across budgets.
