Hong Kong – September 19, 2026 -- TECNO has launched the POVA 8 Pro 5G Tonino Lamborghini Limited Edition, a co-branded smartphone that translates the Italian lifestyle brand's mechanical design heritage into a mobile device.
The phone reimagines Lamborghini's mechanical design cues in a black-and-red colorway
The device uses black as its dominant tone with red as an accent, built around what TECNO calls the 'Pulse Line' at the center of the rear panel, meant to evoke energy and movement. Surrounding it is a 'Signature Shield' pattern drawing on Tonino Lamborghini's shield emblem and mechanical geometry, with a metallic Tonino Lamborghini logo placed at the lower-right corner.
TECNO developed a dual-layer rear-cover process to achieve the mechanical-paint-like finish
The first layer uses a brightness-enhancing treatment for a deeper reflective quality. The second layer relies on specially processed internal mirror structures so that hidden red details emerge only under certain lighting angles as the phone is rotated. TECNO created a physical height difference between the two layers to simulate the spatial depth of mechanical components like cooling grilles, and spent additional time validating the manufacturing process to ensure consistency across mass-produced units.
Software and accessories were customized to extend the brand identity beyond the hardware
TECNO spent nearly four months developing system-level features including dynamic wallpapers, ringtones and an Alive Matrix Display with a customized Tonino Lamborghini 'L' effect. App icons were redesigned in the black-red palette with glass-like material effects and sharper, shield-inspired outlines. The unboxing package includes a black-and-red braided cable, a customized charger and a protective case combining TPU and PC materials with a precision-carved, Kevlar-inspired carbon-fiber texture.
Tonino Lamborghini was founded in 1981 by Tonino Lamborghini, heir to the Lamborghini family, as a lifestyle brand built on Italian design and mechanical aesthetics. The collaboration marks TECNO's POVA line extending its performance-focused identity into a design partnership with the Italian brand.
