Berlin – September 10, 2026 -- TECNO picked up two IFA Global Product Technology Innovation Awards at IFA 2026, honoring its modular smartphone and the Tonino Lamborghini TECNO TAURUS mini PC.
The modular phone measures just 4.9mm thick
The TECNO modular phone won gold in the ultra-thin magnetic modular device category. It uses a high-precision magnetic array paired with pogo-pin connectors, letting users attach add-on modules to a main device that carries a 3,000 to 4,000 mAh battery. The modules draw their own power, so they work immediately without draining the phone's main battery -- a design meant to address the tension between rising AI processing demands and shrinking device space.
The concept has already collected more than 20 media awards this year. CNET and Yanko Design named it Best Product of MWC 2026, and The Verge called it the Best Mobile Technology of MWC 2026.
The Lamborghini-branded mini PC packs a 145W RTX 5060 into 6.36 liters
The Tonino Lamborghini TECNO TAURUS took gold in the gaming mini PC category. Its transparent panoramic chassis holds an Intel Core i9-13900HK processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 graphics card rated at 614 AI TOPS and a 145W TGP, with DLSS 4 support. A water-cooling system keeps clock speeds high under sustained load, while 15 ports and Wi-Fi 6E handle connectivity. Yanko Design previously named it Best Product at MWC.
The awards trace back to a 2014 industry initiative
The Global Product Technology Innovation Awards were established by IDG, IFA, and the DIHK to recognize standout consumer electronics that combine smart technology with user-focused design.
TECNO also showed a frameless phone concept at IFA featuring a 0mm screen bezel, alongside the MEGABOOK T15 360 Pro convertible laptop.
