TECNO's Modular Phone and Lamborghini Mini-PC Win IFA Innovation Golds

BERLIN – September 09, 2026 -- TECNO picked up two Gold awards at the IFA 2026 Global Product Technology Innovation Awards in Berlin, honoring a modular smartphone and a Lamborghini-branded gaming mini-PC.

A 4.9mm phone splits into swappable modules

The TECNO Modular Phone won the Ultra-Slim Magnetic Modular Technology Innovation Gold Award. At 4.9mm thick, the device uses TECNO's proprietary Modular Magnetic Interconnection Technology, combining a precision magnetic array with pogo-pin connectors so users can attach different modules depending on their needs. The main phone body keeps a 3000–4000mAh battery, while attached modules draw power directly rather than sharing the host battery.

TECNO says the design addresses a common tension in phone engineering: fitting growing AI processing demands into an increasingly thin chassis. The phone has already collected more than 20 industry accolades, including Best of MWC 2026 recognition from CNET and Yanko Design, and a Best Mobile Tech award from The Verge at MWC 2026.

A 6.36-liter gaming PC carries the Lamborghini name

The Tonino Lamborghini TECNO TAURUS took the Miniaturized Gaming PC Technology Innovation Gold Award. The compact machine, built around a 6.36-liter panoramic transparent chassis, pairs Italian design cues from Lamborghini with an Intel Core i9-13900HK processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 GPU rated at 614 AI TOPS and a 145W TGP, with DLSS 4 support.

A water-cooling system is built in to sustain peak clock speeds during extended use, and the unit includes 15 ports plus WiFi 6E for connectivity. TECNO positions it as both a high-fidelity gaming rig and an AI workstation. It previously received a Best of MWC award from Yanko Design.

The awards date back to 2014

The Global Product Technology Innovation Awards were established in 2014 by IDG, IFA, and DIHK to recognize standout products across the consumer electronics industry, with a focus on intelligent technology and user-centric design.

TECNO also showed a Next-Gen Bezelless Concept Phone with a 0mm screen bezel and the convertible MEGABOOK T15 360 Pro laptop at IFA, though neither was part of this year's award wins.
