TerraMaster Overhauls Photos App With AI Sorting, Duplicate Cleanup

Shenzhen – September 11, 2026 -- TerraMaster has rolled out a major upgrade to its Photos application, adding AI-powered organization, duplicate photo detection, and a redesigned browsing interface for users managing large personal photo libraries on its NAS devices.

Browsing large libraries gets three new viewing modes

The updated app introduces three levels of thumbnail views, a timeline browsing mode, and keyboard shortcuts, letting users filter and locate photos faster whether they're sorting family albums, travel shots, or professional photography collections.

AI now recognizes people, scenes, and locations

The enhanced AI engine can identify people, scenes, and locations within photo collections, and recognition results can be added to albums with a single click. TerraMaster says this cuts down the manual work of searching for and organizing images.

Duplicate detection targets wasted storage space

A new Duplicate Photo Detection tool automatically finds and groups repeated images, allowing users to review and delete redundant copies to free up storage on their NAS units.

Photos pairs with NAS hardware for private backup

The app is designed to work alongside TerraMaster NAS systems, consolidating images from smartphones, cameras, and computers into a single private, expandable storage hub for backup, search, and cleanup.

September discounts of up to 25% accompany the launch

TerraMaster is running a promotion through September, offering selected storage products at up to 25% off to coincide with the Photos update.
