Hilton Brooklyn New York Unveils $5.5M Renovation, Blending Modern Comfort with Historic Charm

SHERIDAN, WYOMING – April 8, 2025 - A revitalized guest experience rooted in Brooklyn’s storied past
Hilton Brooklyn New York has officially completed a sweeping $5.5-million renovation, elevating the guest experience while honoring the building’s rich maritime history. Managed by HHM Hotels and owned by Ohana Real Estate Investors, the refreshed hotel now features contemporary updates across its guestrooms, meeting spaces, and public areas.

“With this renovation, Hilton Brooklyn is reaffirming its commitment to delivering an elevated experience that meets the evolving needs of business and leisure travelers,” said Paul Schwartz, General Manager of Hilton Brooklyn New York. “From thoughtfully designed guestrooms to enhanced amenities and elevated dining options, every detail has been crafted to ensure a refined stay for our guests.”

A historic site with a modern twist
Located on the site of a 19th-century rope factory once owned by Peter Schermerhorn—then the largest rope producer for New York’s shipbuilding industry—the property embraces its roots with a unique design narrative. Whitehall Interiors spearheaded the design transformation, incorporating nautical elements such as a cream and navy color palette and subtle rope motifs throughout the hotel.

“The impressive renovation of Hilton Brooklyn thoughtfully enhances the guest experience with modern updates across the property, but with a special nod to its storied past,” said James Cole, Partner at Ohana Real Estate Investors. “This important project reflects our commitment to celebrating the unique character of the property while positioning it as a sought-after destination for leisure and business travelers alike.”

Stylish, functional accommodations
The redesign extends into Hilton Brooklyn New York’s 196 guestrooms, which now offer a blend of comfort, style, and functionality. Ranging from 315 to 670 square feet, each room features updated furnishings, art deco accents, and a calming color scheme that complements the overall nautical aesthetic. Guests can enjoy modern amenities such as mini-refrigerators, smartphone docking stations, Crabtree & Evelyn bath products, and 55-inch HD televisions.

Refined dining and social spaces
At the heart of the renovation is the revitalized Black Walnut lobby bar, which now serves gastropub-inspired cuisine for both breakfast and dinner. With all-new custom furnishings and a welcoming ambiance, the space is designed for social connection and shared experiences.

Flexible event and meeting venues
The hotel now boasts 1,740 square feet of updated meeting space, ideal for business functions, private events, or intimate gatherings. The venue can be configured into two 870-square-foot rooms or used as one large event space. For added flexibility, the hotel also offers the option to privatize its dining room and lounge areas.

Upgraded amenities for modern travelers
Guests focused on wellness and productivity will appreciate the newly outfitted fitness center, which includes the latest workout equipment, free weights, and Peloton bikes.

Redefining hospitality in Brooklyn
The $5.5-million renovation positions Hilton Brooklyn New York as a premier destination for travelers seeking both the charm of Brooklyn’s historic roots and the comfort of contemporary hospitality. By blending meaningful design with thoughtful amenities, the hotel invites guests to experience a space where past and present seamlessly intersect.
