Galena, Ill. – September 24, 2026 -- Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa is offering a lineup of seasonal getaway packages this fall and winter, giving Midwest travelers a road-trip alternative about 150 miles west of Chicago in northwest Illinois' Driftless Region.

A Spooky Weekend Package Runs October 22-25
The two-night Spooky Weekend Getaway includes $75 in Eagle Ridge Dollars, two tickets per bedroom to Fear Forest at Shenandoah Riding Center, and round-trip transportation to the nighttime walking experience, recommended for ages 13 and older. Rates start at $573, with accommodations ranging from Inn rooms to five-bedroom distinctive homes.
A separate Halloween Party takes place October 30 from 7 to 11 p.m. at Highlands Restaurant & Lounge, featuring drinks and entertainment.
Thanksgiving and Holiday Packages Start at $612
The three-night Thanksgiving Getaway, running November 24-28, includes $70 in Eagle Ridge Dollars, a family pizza and soft drinks from Woodlands Restaurant, plus a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Rates start at $612 plus tax and resort amenity fee.
A Family Holiday Package covering December 26 through January 2 offers three nights of accommodations, $70 in Eagle Ridge Dollars, complimentary Nordic Center access with sled rentals, and pizza plus soft drinks -- doubled for guests in units with three or more bedrooms.
New Executive Chef Brandon Veitch Reworks the Dinner Menu
Veitch joined Eagle Ridge in June after working at The Peninsula Chicago, The Langham Chicago and Edge by Goldmoor Inn in Galena. At Woodlands Restaurant, his new dinner menu includes Lobster Cavatappi, Heritage Pork Chop, Alaskan Halibut and Prime New York Strip, alongside the resort's existing Thursday Pasta Night and Saturday Prime Rib Night traditions.
Golf and Winter Recreation Fill 6,800 Acres
The resort's four championship courses total 63 holes, including The General, known for steep elevation changes. Weather permitting, the Nordic Center turns the area around The General into a winter setup with ice skating, snowshoeing and sledding down the course's 10th hole, while an indoor golf simulator and Stonedrift Spa offer year-round options.
