Lake George RV Park Wins Two Camper-Voted New York Awards

Lake George – October 14, 2026 -- Lake George RV Park in New York's Adirondack Mountains won two camper-voted statewide awards, Best Campground Amenities and Best Pet-Friendly Campground, and is now taking reservations for its 2027 season.

More than 3,200 people took part in this year's awards, casting over 10,000 votes for campgrounds and outdoor hospitality experiences across New York State. The wins cap the park's 60th-anniversary season, celebrated under the theme "Sixty Years of SMILES."

The resort packs 370 full-hookup sites onto 130 acres

The park accommodates RVs of all sizes, including the largest luxury motorcoaches and Big Rigs. It also offers 26 luxury cabins and four fully equipped rental trailers.

Amenities include heated indoor and outdoor swimming pools, the Cascade Cove aquatic playground and a 38-person hot tub. Guests also get two indoor movie theaters, live family entertainment, complimentary paddle boats, lighted pickleball and tennis courts, and on-site trolley transportation.

Charlie's Bark Park gives dogs two acres to run

The pet-friendly award highlights Charlie's Bark Park, a two-acre off-leash area with separate sections for large and small dogs. It also has walking trails, agility equipment, a spray fountain and dog wash facilities.

The park was also named among RV LIFE's 2026 Best of the Best.

Victor and Jessica King opened the park in 1966

The Kings set out to combine the natural beauty of camping with hospitality, recreation and resort-quality amenities, at a time when many campgrounds offered little more than a place to park. Three generations of the family have since welcomed guests from across North America. Many who first visited as children now return with their own children and grandchildren.

David King, the founders' son and the park's President and CEO, said families still come for the same reasons as 60 years ago: to spend time together, enjoy the outdoors and make memories. He said the camper-voted awards are especially meaningful because they come from the guests themselves.

Reservations for season 61 are open now

The park is now accepting bookings for 2027. According to the park, many families plan their Lake George vacations months ahead and return year after year.

"We have never been a business that spends much time looking backward," King said, adding that the same philosophy of constant improvement will guide the park into season 61.
