Montreal – October 06, 2026 -- Volaris has launched a new optional service called Disruption Assistance, letting travelers facing a flight delay of more than two hours or a same-day cancellation choose between a free rebooking or a 100% refund of their trip cost while keeping the disrupted flight.
Travelers Get a Self-Serve Fix for Flight Chaos
Customers who purchase the add-on can rebook themselves on Volaris or another airline, with the cost covered by travel tech firm HTS (Hopper Technology Solutions), through a self-serve tool. If no rebooking option works for them, they can instead opt for a full refund of their trip price without giving up their original, disrupted flight.
The Service Adds to, Not Replaces, Existing Guarantees
Volaris says Disruption Assistance is a premium add-on that supplements the obligations the airline already provides customers during disruptions, rather than substituting for them. It's purchased separately at the time of booking on Volaris.com, with dynamic pricing that varies by route and other factors.
