Tokyo – September 12, 2026 -- Casio Computer Co., Ltd. has announced a new addition to its G-STEEL line of shock-resistant G-SHOCK watches, the GST-W1000, which pairs the brand's signature durability with a refined metal case built from multiple finely finished components.
Four metal pieces replace the single bezel design
Instead of a single bezel covering the case, the GST-W1000 uses four separately finished metal elements on its exterior. The design hides fixing screws along the sides while maintaining shock resistance, giving the watch a seamless look from bezel to band. Four distinct finishes -- linear brushing, circular brushing, mirror finish, and polishing -- are applied across the surfaces to highlight the metal's texture.
A nano-machined dial reflects light differently with every wrist movement
The dial features a three-dimensional geometric texture created using nano-machining technology developed by Yamagata Casio, described by the company as the "mother factory" of G-SHOCK. The radial finish produces reflections that radiate outward from the center, so each surface catches light differently as the wrist moves, producing shifting patterns of shadow and shine.
TOUGH MVT.2 corrects the watch hands after shocks or magnetic interference
The GST-W1000 incorporates Casio's TOUGH MVT.2 movement technology, an upgrade from the original TOUGH MVT. system. It detects external disturbances such as impacts and magnetic fields and automatically corrects the position of the hands to preserve accurate timekeeping.
G-SHOCK watches have been in production since 1983, with the G-STEEL line built around metal cases that combine shock resistance with advanced metalworking techniques.
