Shokz Launches Limited-Edition Headphones for 2026 Chicago Marathon

Chicago – September 23, 2026 -- Shokz has released the OpenRun Pro 2 Bank of America Chicago Marathon Co-Branded Edition, a limited-run headphone priced at $199.95 USD ($249.95 CAD), available now exclusively at Shokz.com ahead of the October 11 race.

The open-ear bone conduction headphones come in a deep blue and gold colorway, with the marathon route illustrated on the gift box and case. Additional units will be sold at the Bank of America Chicago Marathon Expo at Shokz Booth #339 from October 8 to 10, in both Standard and Mini sizes while supplies last.

The headphones pack 12 hours of battery life and DualPitch Technology

Built on the same platform as the standard OpenRun Pro 2, the co-branded edition includes DualPitch Technology for sound quality, up to 12 hours of listening time, and an open-ear design intended to keep runners aware of traffic, crowds and fellow participants during training and race day.

Shokz returns as the marathon's Official Headphone Partner for a third year

The launch is tied to Shokz's "Let the Windy City In" campaign, which includes training-season collaborations with local partners 3RUN2 and Fleet Feet Chicago, plus a Race Week "Shokz Sound Tour" through Chicago neighborhoods. At the Abbott Health & Fitness Expo, runners can test open-ear headphones and get eligible units custom-engraved at Booth #339. Shokz will also host a presence at the 27th Mile Post-Race Party for runners and the local running community.

Vincent Xiong, CEO of Shokz North America, said the company wanted the design and programming to reflect how Chicago's neighborhoods and crowds become part of the race itself.

Elite marathoner Dakotah Popehn will race and appear at the Expo

Shokz athlete Dakotah Popehn is set to compete in the 2026 Chicago Marathon and will speak on the Abbott Health & Fitness Expo Main Stage on October 9 about her race preparation and the role of community during the marathon.

The 2026 Bank of America Chicago Marathon marks the race's 48th year and is scheduled to start and finish in Grant Park at 7:30 a.m. on October 11, drawing participants from more than 100 countries.
