Suunto Run 2: A 35g Marathon Watch With 10-Day Battery Life

New York – September 11, 2026 -- Suunto has launched the Run 2, a running watch weighing 35 grams that starts at $349, with pre-orders opening today and global availability the same day.

The watch adds a brighter screen and longer battery life than its predecessor

The Run 2 features a 1.32-inch AMOLED display reaching 2,000 nits, three times brighter than the original Suunto Run, designed to stay readable in direct sunlight. Battery capacity increases by 29 percent over the prior model, giving roughly 10 days of everyday use or up to 24 hours with dual-band GNSS tracking active. At 11.7mm thick, the watch body includes a stainless steel bezel, Gorilla Glass and 5 ATM water resistance.

A redesigned heart rate sensor targets accuracy from recovery runs to race surges

Run 2 includes a new 12-channel wrist heart rate sensor behind curved sensor glass. For runners wanting more precise data, the watch pairs with the separately launched Suunto Smart Heart Rate Belt 2, which delivers beat-to-beat R-R interval data and supports Suunto's ZoneSense feature, using heart rate variability to gauge exercise intensity in real time rather than relying on fixed zones.

The chest strap connects to three devices simultaneously and lasts 460 hours per charge

The Smart Heart Rate Belt 2 uses ECG-based detection to filter measurement artifacts and includes a six-axis IMU that tracks running form metrics such as cadence, ground contact time and vertical oscillation when paired with a compatible watch. It holds up to 20 hours of rolling memory and connects over Bluetooth to as many as three devices at once, including watches, bike computers and phones.

New-generation GNSS tracks five satellite systems for tighter route accuracy

Run 2 uses dual-band GNSS across L1 and L5 signals, drawing on GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou and QZSS. The watch also includes free worldwide offline maps that download directly to the device, along with training tools including EnergySense, which shows real-time effort against remaining capacity, and Marathon Time, which projects a finishing time based on current pace.

Two storage versions and three colorways are available at launch

The Run 2 comes in a 4GB version priced at $349 and a 64GB version at $399, available in All Black, Feather Gold and Aloe Green. Distribution runs through Suunto's direct-to-consumer channels and authorized retail partners across North America, Europe and key Asia-Pacific markets. The launch is tied to Suunto's See the Run Ahead campaign, featuring U.S. Olympic marathoner Clayton Young.
