Anguilla Culinary Experience Returns April 28–May 2, 2027

Anguilla – October 30, 2026 -- The Anguilla Culinary Experience (ACE) returns for its sixth year from April 28 to May 2, 2027, with five days of chef collaborations, beachside bartending contests and cooking competitions across the island. New York chef Marc Forgione has joined the 2027 lineup as a guest chef.

Last year's festival turned the island into a shared dining room

In 2026, award-winning guest chefs and Anguilla's own culinary stars cooked side by side at restaurants, resorts, villas and on the beach. The program included a music-filled opening night party at beachfront Karaya and a wine-pairing dinner at Jacala with Grands Vins de France. Multicourse dinners ran at Malliouhana, Four Seasons Resort Anguilla and Zemi Beach House, and a six-hands dinner took place at Villa Alegria.

Service Pros Auto Glass Adds Windshield Repair in Florida, SC

Sarasota – October 30, 2026 -- Drivers and dealerships in Florida and South Carolina can now get qualifying windshield damage repaired, not just replaced, by Service Pros Auto Glass.

Repair is new, replacement is not

Service Pros has long handled windshield replacements for drivers and dealerships in both states. Repair is a new service, offered for damage that qualifies under the industry's national standard.

Founder and CEO Bill Camp says that "when repair is the safe choice, we can offer it." He adds that the company's technicians are trained to that standard.

The American National Standards Institute decides what qualifies

The company's repair guidelines follow the American National Standards Institute, which sets out what damage can be safely repaired and how. If damage does not qualify, Service Pros will recommend replacement instead.

Notah Begay III Junior Golf Championship Returns to Louisiana

Kinder – October 30, 2026 -- The best junior golfers in the NB3 JGNC Series tee off at Koasati Pines in Kinder, Louisiana, with the Girls National Championship on November 1-3, 2026 and the Boys National Championship on November 6-8.

3,500 juniors chased 320 spots

More than 3,500 golfers ages 10 to 18 entered this year's three-stage qualifying process. Only 320 earned a place in the championship field. The events are held at Coushatta Casino Resort, home to Koasati Pines, which the resort calls the top-rated golf course in Louisiana. Title sponsor Skechers brings new events to the series this year.

Founder Notah Begay III says the draw is exposure. "Creating those opportunities for the next generation is what this game is about," he said, noting that players compete on a national stage and can be seen by college coaches.

Listeners named Dittert's book their favorite for 2026.

Inside Kansas City's Haunts: How Edge of Hell and Beast Scare You

KANSAS CITY – October 30, 2026 -- Two Kansas City haunted attractions, Edge of Hell (open since 1975) and Beast Haunted Attraction (open since 1991), build their scares on more than a monster in a mask, says industry spokesperson Amber Arnett-Bequeaith, known as the Queen of Haunts.

Sound, smell and touch do the heavy lifting

According to Arnett-Bequeaith, the real work happens before you see the monster. A scream from somewhere unseen builds anticipation. A damp, musty odor hints that something has been lurking for years. An unfamiliar texture or a dark passage gives the imagination room to run.

Smell has particularly strong connections to brain systems involved in emotion and memory. Combined with sight and sound, it can make an imaginary world feel convincing enough to trigger an instinctive response.

Not My President: A Book of 48 Footnoted Trump Quotes

Charleston, S.C. – October 30, 2026 -- Palmetto Publishing has released Not My President, a book of 48 numbered quotations from Donald J. Trump, now available at Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com.

Each entry is one quotation followed by a plain footnote naming the speaker, the venue, the city and the date. The compiler, listed as J. Williams, adds no jokes and no analysis. The full title is Not My President: Dumb Things Said by the 45th and 47th President of the United States.

The first entry comes from a 2019 kidney health signing

The book opens on July 10, 2019, at the signing of an executive order on advancing American kidney health in Washington, D.C. The quoted line: "The kidney has a very special place in the heart." The footnote follows, then the next entry.

Brechtian: 15 Flash Fiction Tales Where Narrators Talk Back

CHARLESTON – October 30, 2026 -- Brechtian, a fifteen-story flash fiction anthology by debut author Asher Rush, is now available online through Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Palmetto Publishing released the collection, which covers action, romance, and biblical tragedy.

Narrators interrupt themselves and argue with readers

Every story in the book is told by a narrator who breaks the fourth wall. The title nods to Bertolt Brecht's theatrical tradition of shattering the stage illusion, and Rush applies the same approach to the page.

The anthology opens with X, a self-described "near miss assassin" who wakes in a hospital bed and trades sharp dialogue with a nurse. He is a trained killer who has never completed a job. Later stories feature a villager hanged for honesty and a reluctant vampire cursed to become something worse.

Walk-In Shower or Tub? Aging-in-Place Remodeling Tips

Sherwood – October 30, 2026 -- For seniors weighing a walk-in shower against a tub, a HelloNation article says zero-threshold walk-in showers are often the safer and easier choice, especially for people who use walkers or chairs.

Bathrooms come first because wet surfaces and tight space raise the risk

The article, featuring Troy and Molly Mueller, remodeling experts in Sherwood, Wisconsin, says the most effective aging-in-place changes start with safety. Bathrooms are usually the first area addressed.

Tubs can still work, but they typically need extra safety measures such as grab bars or step-through inserts. The article says the right choice depends on each household's needs.

Slip-resistant flooring and grab bars in key spots add stability without changing the look of the room. Handheld showerheads and built-in seating add comfort and ease of use.
