SAN ANTONIO – October 29, 2026 -- Shoppers on Walmart.com and the Walmart app can round up purchases from November 2-30 to support military and veteran families, and Walmart will match those donations 2:1, up to $1 million.
It is the fourth consecutive year that Walmart has named Operation Homefront a beneficiary of its Spark Good Round Up program. The nonprofit is also running its annual 11 Days of Impact campaign from November 1-12, with a goal of raising $500,000 to help families keep housing, food and utilities covered during hardship.
Requests for financial help are up 48.8% this year
Operation Homefront reports a 48.8% increase in requests through its Critical Financial Assistance Program this year. More than 28% of military families have experienced some level of food insecurity, nearly double the rate of U.S. households overall.
"Veterans Day is an opportunity to honor service, but our responsibility to military and veteran families extends far beyond a single day," said retired Rear Adm. Alan Reyes, the organization's President and CEO.
Norfolk event will host 200 military families on November 8
Operation Homefront will hold its second Homefront Celebration of the year in Norfolk, Virginia, sponsored by Carnival Cruise Line and Dollar Tree. Fifty new and expectant military parents will gather aboard Carnival Sunshine while it is docked in Norfolk. Other families will meet at Hilton Norfolk The Main for food and family-friendly activities.
Every attending family will leave with a meal kit.
Two homebuilders will hand over homes on Veterans Day
Through the Permanent Homes for Veterans program, Meritage Homes will welcome a Navy veteran and mother of two to a new home in Gulfport, Mississippi. PulteGroup will welcome an Army veteran, his wife and their three children to a new home in Anna, Texas.
More corporate partners are backing the campaign
Northrop Grumman, CarMax, Love's Travel Stops and Yesway are also campaign partners. Throughout November, Operation Homefront will share stories of families helped by its programs. Supporters can donate, share those stories on social media or encourage others to take part.
