One Stop Swap Plans Second Act to Help Seniors Sell From Home

LOS ANGELES – October 30, 2026 -- Los Angeles startup One Stop Swap is planning a program called One Stop Swap Second Act, which would help older Americans earn extra income from home by selling items they no longer use. The national launch is targeted for mid-2027, and about 3,400 prospective members have already preregistered.

Rising costs and a tough job market for older workers drive the plan

AARP research from February 2026 found that 48% of retirees who returned to work cited making money as their primary reason. Among working or job-seeking adults 50+, 41% cited everyday living expenses. Separately, 67% of older workers surveyed believed finding another job would be difficult, and 60% of adults 50+ said technology was not designed with their age in mind.

Co-founder Stephen Bikoff said valuable things sit unused in homes while people struggle with bills. He said that gap is what One Stop Swap was meant to address.
