oneworld Launches One-Step Digital Check-in Across Airlines

Lisbon – October 12, 2026 -- Travellers on multi-carrier trips across the oneworld alliance can now check in once, scan their passport and save boarding passes to their digital wallet. The feature is live on all alliance carriers and covers every oneworld-operated flight in an itinerary, regardless of which airline operates the first leg.

The feature runs on oneworld's proprietary technology, which lets different member airlines' systems communicate through a shared digital platform.

One app handles every leg of the journey

The alliance gives an example of an American Airlines customer flying from Kuala Lumpur to Dallas-Fort Worth via Tokyo. The first flight is on Malaysia Airlines, with a connection to American Airlines. The process works like this:

Fort Worth, Texas – September 12, 2026 -- Travelers booking Round the World trips through oneworld.com will now receive a free subscription to Timeshifter, a jet lag app used by more than 1.7 million people worldwide.

The complimentary subscription, effective immediately, covers a customer's entire itinerary, factoring in every flight and time zone change from departure to final return.

Timeshifter builds personalized plans around each traveler's flight schedule

The app uses circadian science to generate advice tailored to a customer's flight itinerary, typical sleep pattern, chronotype, and personal preferences. Timeshifter says it is already used by astronauts, Formula One teams, and professional athletes.
