Nazareth, Pa. – September 18, 2026 -- C. F. Martin & Co. has launched a refreshed 16 Series of all-solid-wood acoustic-electric guitars, handcrafted in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, and available starting September 15, 2026.
New gloss finishes give the lineup a bolder visual identity
The refreshed series introduces gloss-top finish options including Blue Denim, Cherry Cola, Cream, Black Smoke, and 1935 Burst. The GPC and Grand J 12-string models retain a more traditional natural top with a vintage tint.
The DSS-16E marks a first for Martin's Dreadnought line
The DSS-16E is Martin's first short-scale sloped-shoulder Dreadnought, featuring a 24.9-inch scale length paired with a slope-shoulder body for a warm, punchy voice and relaxed feel. The lineup also spans compact 00L models known for focused projection, powerful Jumbos built for stage volume, a Grand Performance cutaway (GPC) offering 000 depth and balanced tone, and a Grand Jumbo 12-string designed for shimmer and rich overtones.
Every model uses all-solid wood construction and onboard electronics
Select models combine solid spruce tops with satin solid mahogany back and sides for punchy midrange and controlled lows, while others use satin solid East Indian rosewood back and sides for deeper bass and articulate highs. L.R. Baggs Element electronics come standard across the entire refreshed 16 Series, giving players stage-ready amplified sound.
Martin adds a small merchandise capsule tied to the launch
Alongside the guitars, Martin is releasing limited lifestyle items inspired by the new finishes, including Blue Denim and Cherry Cola steins, a Cherry Cola ringer T-shirt, a Blue Denim corduroy hat, and a Blue Fade leather strap.
