Conroe – September 08, 2026 -- Eyemart Express is entering the Greater Houston market for the first time, opening a store in Conroe on Sept. 8 at 1302 W. Davis St. It's the first of four locations the national optical retailer plans to open in the area by year's end.
Same-day glasses aim to remove cost and wait-time barriers
Each store operates an on-site lens lab, letting most customers walk out with finished glasses within an hour of purchase instead of waiting a week or more. The 3,442-square-foot Conroe location stocks more than 2,000 frames for adults and kids, with a complete pair of single vision glasses starting under $20. The assortment includes in-house brands alongside designer lines such as Versace, Lacoste, Kendra Scott, and Nike, plus children's collections from Jonas Paul, Dr. Seuss, and My Little Pony.
The Conroe store adds eye exams and a discount program for local workers
Residents can get an eye exam on-site with Dr. Maurice Wilson of Wilson Vision Associates, whose office is located inside the store, or bring in an existing prescription. Eyemart Express offers a standing 20% discount for veterans, active military families, first responders, healthcare workers, and school staff and teachers with valid identification, available at every location.
Houston expansion builds on Eyemart Express' existing Texas footprint
The company already operates 42 stores across Texas, and each new Houston-area location will hire opticians, lab technicians, and retail associates. Additional store announcements are expected in the coming weeks as each opening nears.
Eyemart Express President Katy Hanson said fast-growing suburbs like Conroe deserve the same quality and convenient eye care the company has provided for more than 36 years. The Conroe store is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and is closed Sundays.
