SHERIDAN, WYOMING – Feb. 12, 2025 – The Malvar Plant of Monde Nissin Corporation (MNC) has achieved the Phase 2 Integrated Work System (IWS) status, becoming the first MNC site to do so. This accomplishment follows a rigorous assessment evaluating business results, safety and quality foundations, operational/manufacturing excellence, capability, and organization culture parameters.

What is IWS?

IWS is a business and operational excellence strategy developed by Procter & Gamble (P&G). MNC utilizes IWS under licensing agreements. It integrates best practices from various supply chain methodologies, including total productive maintenance (TPM), high-performance work systems (HPWS), continuous improvement via PDCA, and P&G’s best practices for supply chain mastery.

Malvar Plant's Journey to Phase 2

Despite launching in 2021 amidst significant COVID-related disruptions, the Malvar Plant quickly implemented the Run-to-Target (RTT) strategy. In 2023, preparations for full IWS implementation began. The plant has achieved remarkable results, including over 655 days with zero injuries, no product recalls, a 99% customer service level, only 4% unplanned downtime, and recognition as the most productive site within the MNC network. This success is driven by leveraging digital solutions for a paperless and highly integrated daily management system.

Rigorous Assessment and Recognition

The intense 3-day assessment was conducted by P&G Global Directors for Manufacturing Innovation Capability, Marc Winkelman, and co-led by Stefano Caruso. "Congratulations to Site Head @Ramon Estrella and the Malvar leadership team for this achievement! Special thanks to the MNC Corporate Technical Organization and internal coaches for enabling the site," said Armie Umale, MNC Corporate Product Supply Excellence.

It will be a role model for delivering breakthrough business results through rigorous systems implementation, best-in-class capabilities, and digital solutions, all anchored on a desired culture that brings the strategies to life daily.
