Tampa -- United Vein & Vascular Centers (UVVC) will open a South Tampa clinic on August 24, 2026, offering vein screenings and minimally invasive treatment for varicose veins and related symptoms at 4401 W. Kennedy Blvd., Suite 202, Tampa, FL 33609. Appointments can be booked by calling (800) 952-5954.
The clinic sits on the Kennedy Boulevard corridor in Westshore Palms
UVVC says the location serves residents of West Tampa, South Tampa, Hyde Park, Palma Ceia, Beach Park, Westshore, Davis Islands, Sunset Park and surrounding areas. It also puts outpatient vein care closer to commuters on Dale Mabry Highway and MacDill Avenue.
Patients who previously had to travel outside South Tampa for evaluation, imaging and follow-up care now have a nearby option.
Symptoms that may warrant a screening
The clinic evaluates varicose veins, changes in vein appearance, discoloration around the lower legs or ankles, swelling, leg pain, heaviness, fatigue and cramps. These symptoms do not automatically mean a patient has vein disease or needs treatment. A screening is meant to determine whether further testing or care is appropriate.
Some people try elevation, activity changes or compression stockings first. Compression stockings can be part of a conservative care plan, but symptoms that continue or worsen may call for a screening to check for an underlying vein condition.
Dr. Patricia Fletcher leads the care team
Board-certified vascular surgeon Dr. Patricia Fletcher will lead the clinic. Her approach centers on listening to each patient and building an individual plan based on symptoms, lifestyle, medical history and vascular health needs. She and her team use advanced imaging and minimally invasive techniques to identify veins that may not be circulating blood properly.
Five minimally invasive procedures will be available
- Radiofrequency ablation (RFA): controlled heat closes veins that are not circulating blood properly, so blood reroutes through healthier nearby veins.
- VenaSealTM: a medical adhesive closes affected veins without heat, offering a non-thermal option for qualifying patients.
- Varithena®: an injectable microfoam used for certain varicose veins, including some that may be difficult to treat with other minimally invasive procedures.
- Ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy: ultrasound guides an injectable solution into affected veins, causing them to close.
- Microphlebectomy: larger surface varicose veins are removed through tiny incisions, relieving symptoms and improving the look of bulging veins.
Recommendations depend on the veins involved, the patient's symptoms, ultrasound findings and the physician's evaluation.
