The product, revealed at the Shenzhen Sci-Tech Innovation Exhibition, is now available for trial in Shenzhen.
The AI engine translates medical conversations in real time across 19 languages
Ping An GlobalCare uses an AI-powered translation system that supports two-way speech and text conversion, with specific coverage for professional medical terminology. The tool aims to remove communication gaps between international patients and Chinese physicians during consultations.
Users can log in with mobile numbers from 198 countries and regions, a feature intended to make the service accessible to a broad international user base without requiring a local Chinese phone number.
A dedicated coordinator can cut a hospital visit down to three hours
Beyond translation, the service offers a three-step process: online assessment, transfer arranged by a dedicated case coordinator, and in-person escort throughout the hospital visit. In one case cited by the company, an American user named Michael experienced sudden abdominal pain, completed an AI-translated online consultation, and was then transported and accompanied by a coordinator for his entire visit -- reducing what is typically a lengthy process to roughly three hours.
The medical team holds certification from three international family medicine bodies
The family doctor team behind Ping An GlobalCare has obtained membership certification under PKU Healthcare. Its service system is also certified by the World Organization of Family Doctors (WONCA), the Chinese Society of General Practice of the Chinese Medical Association (CMA), and The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP). Many team members come from 3A-rated hospitals in mainland China, the highest hospital classification tier in the country.
A company representative said Ping An GlobalCare is an effort to address the healthcare needs of expatriates in China, with plans to expand cross-border healthcare capabilities as part of the company's broader online, in-hospital, at-home, and corporate service network.
