San Diego – October 15, 2026 -- Patients in San Diego can now get skin cancer surgery, scar revision and physician-performed cosmetic treatments from one new dermatologist at Lanoi Dermatology in Sorrento Valley. The practice has welcomed Hannah Sophie Berman, MD, a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon.
Dr. Berman performs Mohs surgery, excisions and scar revision
Her surgical work at Lanoi includes Mohs micrographic surgery, skin cancer surgery, excisions, biopsies and scar revision. She also treats a range of medical dermatologic concerns.
On the cosmetic side, she offers injectables, laser treatments and individualized skin rejuvenation plans, all performed by a physician.
Her training spans UCLA, Mayo Clinic and Scripps Clinic
Berman earned her medical degree at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and completed her dermatology residency at Mayo Clinic, where she was chief resident. She then finished an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Mohs surgery and cutaneous oncology at Scripps Clinic under Dr. Hugh Greenway.
She also completed formal cosmetic and laser training under an internationally renowned dermatologist, covering injectables, advanced lasers and comprehensive facial rejuvenation.
She stresses clear communication and evidence-based plans
Berman says every patient deserves to understand what is happening with their skin and to feel confident in the plan ahead. Her stated approach aims to protect health, function and appearance.
Outside the clinic, she is a long-distance runner who has completed several marathons, and she has volunteered her dermatology skills in Moshi, Tanzania.
Lanoi is located at 6605 Nancy Ridge Drive, San Diego, and takes appointment requests through its website.
