Dodge Unveils Purple Haze, Super Bee Liveries for NHRA's Michigan Return

Auburn Hills – September 18, 2026 -- Dodge and Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) revealed new race car liveries featuring the Charger Super Bee logo and the limited-run Purple Haze color ahead of the inaugural Dodge NHRA Great Lakes Nationals presented by Mopar, set for Sept. 18-20 at U.S. 131 Motorsports Park in Martin, Michigan.

The event marks the first NHRA National event in Michigan in 66 years, since Detroit Dragway hosted the U.S. Nationals in 1960.

TSR drivers will pilot 12,000-horsepower machines in the new graphics

Leah Pruett's Top Fuel dragster and Matt Hagan's Funny Car will carry the Super Bee logo alongside the Purple Haze paint scheme during the race weekend, with coverage airing on Fox Sports 1. Hagan, a four-time NHRA Funny Car world champion with 58 career wins, has recorded three victories in 2026 at Pomona, Bristol and Brainerd. Pruett, a 13-time NHRA Top Fuel national event winner, previously won the New England Nationals in Dodge livery this season.

The 600-horsepower Charger Super Bee will sit on display at the track

The 2027 Dodge Charger Super Bee Launch Edition, unveiled in August at Dodge's Roadkill Nights event in Metro Detroit, produces an SAE-certified 600 horsepower. Dodge calls it the quickest, fastest and most powerful SIXPACK Charger built to date. The car will be part of the Dodge display on Manufacturers Midway at U.S. 131 Motorsports Park.

Purple Haze paint now costs $795 for 2027 Charger orders

The high-gloss clearcoat color, added to the Charger palette in June, shifts appearance in direct sunlight and deepens to purple in shade. It is a limited-run option exclusive to the 2027 Dodge Charger lineup and is currently open for order at a U.S. MSRP of $795.

A Sept. 17 group cruise will run from Auburn Hills to the racetrack

Dodge and NHRA are organizing a "Tour de Michigan" cruise open to Dodge owners and other performance-vehicle enthusiasts. Participants will gather at 7:30 a.m. at Stellantis North America headquarters in Auburn Hills before driving a suggested route to Martin, Michigan, with a stop in Hell, Michigan.

Qualifying rounds for the Dodge NHRA Great Lakes Nationals begin Friday, Sept. 18 at 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. EDT, continue Saturday at noon and 2:30 p.m. EDT, and final eliminations are scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 20 at 10:30 a.m. EDT, with broadcast coverage at 2 p.m. EDT on Fox Sports 1.
