Veridian Members Get Free Identity Theft Restoration Help

WATERLOO, Iowa – October 30, 2026 -- Veridian Credit Union members can now use Allstate Identity Protection at no cost through Credit Central, the free credit monitoring tool inside Veridian's online banking.

Identity theft losses hit $27.3 billion in 2025

The Javelin Strategy & Research 2026 Identity Fraud Study put U.S. identity theft losses at an all-time high of $27.3 billion in 2025. Veridian added the benefit as those losses grow.

Members who suspect fraud can work with a restoration specialist

Members enrolled in Credit Central who believe they are experiencing identity theft can use identity fraud finder tools. They can also work with a professional restoration specialist on monitoring high-risk transactions, dark web exposure and more.

Monitoring for additional fraud continues for at least three months after a restoration case is resolved.

Mallory Paeper, Veridian's manager of fraud and disputes, said financial well-being includes more than knowing a credit score. It also means having support when personal information is compromised.

Credit Central already covers scores, reports and alerts

Credit Central gives members their credit score and credit report, credit monitoring alerts and personalized tools for managing their credit. It is available within online banking at no cost, and the identity protection benefit now sits alongside those features.
