A Coruña – September 28, 2026 -- SON Estrella Galicia Posidonia marks its 10th anniversary with a special edition running October 2–4 on the Spanish island of Formentera, capping a decade built on secrecy, intimacy and sustainability rather than mega-lineups.
The festival caps attendance at just 350 people per edition
Unlike most music festivals chasing bigger crowds, SON Estrella Galicia Posidonia has kept its guest list deliberately small since launching, revealing its artist lineup only once the event begins. The 2026 edition, themed "(re)discovering Posidonia," revisits artists and locations that have defined the festival's first nine years.
Guests have logged more than 60 kilometers exploring the island on foot
Across nine editions, organizers have run over 30 land and sea routes with more than 50 local guides, partnering with over 140 local businesses. More than 30 restaurants and chefs have built a gastronomic program around local produce, tying the festival experience directly to Formentera's landscape and communities.
The event has held Platinum zero-waste certification for three straight years
SON Estrella Galicia Posidonia is the only music festival worldwide to earn TRUE Zero Waste Platinum certification -- the top tier awarded by Green Business Certification Inc. -- for three consecutive years. It has also run as a zero-emissions event since 2021, backing shared mobility efforts and the Save Posidonia Project, which protects the oceanic seagrass meadows surrounding the island.
The festival has hosted 78 artists and 83 concerts over nine editions
Past lineups have included The Vaccines, Jorge Drexler, Roosevelt, Baiuca, Israel Fernández, Queralt Lahoz, Pongo, Crystal Murray, KABEAUSHÉ and Los Bitchos, spanning 83 concerts and 17 DJ sets since the festival began.
