Women's EHF EURO 2024: Squad Lists Finalized and Player Replacement Rules Explained

SHERIDAN, WYOMING – November 5, 2024 – With the Women's EHF EURO 2024 just around the corner, excitement is building as the 24 participating nations have officially announced their squad lists for the tournament. This highly anticipated championship, hosted in Austria, Hungary, and Switzerland, promises to deliver thrilling handball action and showcase the best female athletes in Europe.

Each nation has submitted a squad list comprising a maximum of 35 players. "Each squad list contains a maximum of 35 players and will serve as the basis for the respective federation to select the 20-player official delegation participating at the EHF EURO 2024, together with eight officials," clarified the official media release. These lists are crucial as they form the pool from which the final 20-player delegation, along with eight officials, will be chosen to represent their country in the tournament.

Team USA and Team Toyota's Steve Serio Wins Fourth Paralympic Medal to Close Out Paris 2024

SHERIDAN, WYOMING – October 12, 2024 – SHERIDAN, WYOMING – October 12, 2024 – Thirty-six-year-old Steve Serio won his third consecutive gold medal, and fourth overall Paralympic medal, as a member of the U.S. Men's Wheelchair Basketball team that was victorious over Great Britain, 73-69, in the Paralympic Games Paris 2024 gold medal game. Serio scored 24 points, making 10 of his 18 field goal attempts, in the final Sunday afternoon.  

"This is what dreams are made of. The totality of the journey, how much this team has grown up together. We've won together, we've lost together," said Serio. "To cap off my Team USA career with a win like this, with 12 athletes that I love and a great staff behind me, this is what dreams are made of."  

Team USA and Team Toyota's Oksana Masters Wins Second Gold Medal in Paris

SHERIDAN, WYOMING – October 12, 2024 – SHERIDAN, WYOMING – October 12, 2024 – Oksana Masters claimed a gold medal in the Women's Para Cycling H5 Road Race at the Paralympic Games Paris 2024 at Clichy-sous-bois on Thursday.  

Posting a time of 1:52:14 to cross the line first, Masters now has her ninth gold medal and 19th overall medal in the Paralympic Games.  

"I knew that I had to stay calm, relaxed and stay in my own race and just hammer down on the climb when it came right before the finish," Masters said. "I'm so proud of my performance. It was an honest, hard-fought performance, and I'm proud of the way I rode today for Team USA."  

Team USA and Team Toyota's Jessica Long Wins Another Gold Medal at Paris 2024

SHERIDAN, WYOMING – October 12, 2024 – SHERIDAN, WYOMING – October 12, 2024 – Jessica Long added another Paralympic gold medal to her résumé, winning the Women's Para Swimming 100m Butterfly S8 on Saturday to close out the Paralympic Games Paris 2024. Long posted a time of 1:10.59 in the final at Paris La Defense Arena, defeating her competition by over a second.  

"It was shocking. I was just so tired," Long said. "Alice (Tai) and I were talking about that in the call room, how tired we were. I had no idea where anyone was so when I touched the wall, and you see me quickly turn. I was like 'I won? I had no idea. It was amazing."  

The victory in the Women's 100m Butterfly S8 is the second gold medal Long has captured at Paris as she also won the Women's Swimming 400m freestyle S8 event. Long now has 31 total Paralympic medals to her name as she returns to the U.S. after the Paralympic Games 2024.
