Friskies to Donate 500,000 Meals to Shelter Cats This Football Season

St. Louis – September 28, 2026 -- Every time one of six newly signed college football mascots scores this season, Friskies will donate 10,000 meals to shelter cats, with the cat food brand pledging up to 500,000 meals total across the fall.

The brand announced it has signed six mascots from five universities into its "Certified Frisky" campaign: Wilbur and Wilma Wildcat from the University of Arizona, Truman the Tiger from the University of Missouri, Will D. Cat from Villanova University, Cosmo the Cougar from Brigham Young University, and Aubie the Tiger from Auburn University.

Each first score of the game triggers a 10,000-meal donation

Whenever one of the five schools' teams records its first score in a regular-season game -- touchdown, field goal or safety -- Friskies will donate 10,000 meals to Greater Good Charities. The meals go toward feeding shelter cats in the schools' local communities and beyond.

"Every great program starts with great recruits, and we couldn't be more excited to sign some of college sports' most recognizable feline talent," said Jason Dolan, Brand Director at Friskies. He said the mascots already know how to rally fans and that the partnership turns game-day excitement into help for cats in need.

The push follows a basketball tie-in earlier in 2026

The six-mascot roster builds on Friskies' earlier 2026 collaboration with the University of Arizona Wildcats, during which the team's men's basketball postseason run converted points scored into meals for shelter cats.

The campaign was arranged with each school's multimedia rightsholders: Playfly Sports, which represents Auburn Athletics, BYU Athletics nationally and Villanova Athletics; Learfield, which represents University of Missouri Athletics; and Arizona Sports Enterprises, which represents University of Arizona Athletics.

Friskies is promoting the campaign on Instagram, Facebook and YouTube throughout the college football season.
