The award ceremony took place in the Piazzetta of the historic Cologne City Hall, where Demnig laid the first brass plaque in 1992.

The Stolpersteine project is considered the largest decentralized memorial in the world. This partnership, composed of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), and the Sustainable Hospitality Alliance, aims to halt and reverse biodiversity loss by 2030.

Launched at COP15 in 2022, the NPTP brings together key stakeholders from the tourism sector, including policymakers and private sector leaders, to advocate for nature-positive practices.

At COP16, the NPTP is calling on governments to actively engage with the global Travel & Tourism sector to achieve the goals outlined in the Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF).
