East Lyme, Conn. – September 24, 2026 -- Chad and Jennifer Sklodosky have opened East Lyme Stretch Zone, bringing practitioner-assisted stretching services to their hometown in Connecticut.
The studio marks the couple's second Stretch Zone location, with a third already in development. Chad and Jennifer met in East Lyme in high school and later married, giving the opening particular personal weight.
Chad Sklodosky Spent 30 Years in Corporate Business Before Switching to Stretching
Before becoming a franchise owner, Chad worked for more than 30 years at a local Fortune 500 company in business administration and operational excellence. He said he was drawn to Stretch Zone for its focus on wellness and its straightforward business model.
"Everyone knows that they should stretch, but few actually do it, or do it correctly," Chad said. "Our goal is to give the East Lyme community an easy, approachable way to make flexibility and mobility part of their wellness routine."
Practitioners Use a Patented Strapping System to Isolate Muscle Groups
Stretch Zone's method relies on trained practitioners who guide clients through stretches using specialized tables and a patented strapping system. The system is designed to isolate specific muscle groups and provide stability during sessions, making stretching accessible to people who struggle to maintain a routine on their own.
East Lyme Stretch Zone will be led by General Manager and Regional Manager Amanda Gray.
The Sklodosky Family Has Deep Roots in the East Lyme Community
Chad is the youngest of 10 children and comes from a family of carpenters who have built and refurbished homes throughout the area. For the couple, opening the studio is a chance to give back to the community where their relationship began.
"We are proud to come back to the community where our story began and introduce our neighbors to a different approach to stretching and mobility," Chad said.
