Calgary, AB – September 19, 2026 -- Real Mushrooms' Cordyceps 120 Count Capsules, marketed to support energy levels, oxygen utilization and physical performance, have received NSF Certified for Sport status for the small-format bottles sold in the U.S.
Canadian bottles earn a separate certification tier
In Canada, both bottle sizes of the Cordyceps capsules achieved NSF Contents Certified status, a distinct designation from the U.S. Certified for Sport label.
Contents Certified checks label accuracy, Sport adds banned-substance testing
NSF Contents Certified verifies ingredient identity, label accuracy and declared amounts, testing the product against predefined contaminant requirements. NSF Certified for Sport builds on that by adding testing for substances banned by major athletic organizations, along with expanded oversight of ingredients, suppliers and manufacturing processes.
CEO says certification replaces consumer guesswork
"For years, athletes have had to take a supplement's word for it," said Skye Chilton, co-founder and CEO of Real Mushrooms. He said the company has built its brand on transparency since its founding, using real mushroom extracts and mycelium without grain fillers, and standardizing for active compounds.
The NSF certifications sit alongside NSF's Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certification, which verifies that manufacturing facilities maintain documented quality assurance systems, traceability controls and independent audit oversight.
Product is made without grain filler
Real Mushrooms' Cordyceps 120 Count Capsules are made from 100% mushroom extracts, processed without grain filler. The company states Cordyceps can support energy and stamina.
