Rural King Overhauls Rewards: Points End, Member Deals Begin

Mattoon – October 30, 2026 -- Starting Nov. 1, Rural King is replacing point-earning in its free Rural King Rewards program with members-only pricing, and 10 Hot Deals will be available at its stores nationwide.

Southeast Hot Deals pilot goes national

The Hot Deals program launched in September at participating stores in Florida, Alabama and Georgia. It gave members steep discounts on 10 everyday essentials, including pet food, livestock feed, household supplies and automotive products. Prices were at least 25% below normal market prices.

Based on that response, the family-owned retailer is expanding the approach to all Rural King stores. Additional benefits will roll out in phases.

Four new member benefits are on the way
  • Members-only pricing and sales: exclusive savings on products throughout the store.
  • Birthday and membership anniversary rewards: special perks for loyal customers.
  • Early access: select promotions and events open to members first.
  • Easier purchase lookup and returns: simplified access to purchase records.

Rural King Chairman Alex Melvin said the goal is for "every visit to Rural King to be worth more."

Existing points expire; rewards stay valid for 60 days

Beginning Nov. 1, members will no longer earn points on eligible purchases under the base Rural King Rewards program. Any points not yet converted into rewards will expire.

Rewards already issued remain valid for 60 days from their issuance dates. They can be redeemed in stores or online, subject to program terms.

Rural King Visa cardholders are not affected. They will continue to earn points through the Rural King Visa Rewards program.

Membership in Rural King Rewards is free. Customers can find updates on RuralKing.com and membership help at help.RuralKing.com.
