Berlin -- September 7, 2026 -- Midea put its SMART MASTER platform front and center at IFA 2026, showcasing an AI-driven home ecosystem built around voice interaction and a prototype household robot.
The AI agent responds in under half a second
SMART MASTER's core AI agent supports 140 languages, recognizes voice commands from up to 8 meters away, and replies within 0.4 seconds. Voice control is built into major appliances and extends to in-vehicle systems and other connected devices.
Four agents split household duties throughout the day
Comfort Agent adjusts the air conditioner and humidifier and manages laundry when residents arrive home. Health Agent suggests dinner recipes based on ingredients already in the fridge and coordinates kitchen appliances accordingly. Efficiency Agent helps households manage energy consumption, while Service Agent diagnoses appliance issues and offers real-time video support and maintenance alerts.
A robot demonstrated dishwashing and popcorn-making live at the booth
Midea Robot appeared on the IFA show floor performing tasks such as handling dishes, making popcorn, and interacting with visitors. The robot runs on Midea's EAGLES system architecture and is powered by four multimodal foundation models, designed to assist with laundry, cooking, cleaning, companionship, caregiving, and whole-home smart control.
