Volkswagen Celebrates 50 Years of the Polo at Bremen Classic Motorshow
SHERIDAN, WYOMING – January 24, 2025 – SHERIDAN, WYOMING – Jan. 23, 2025 – Volkswagen is marking the 50th anniversary of its iconic Polo model with a special exhibition at the Bremen Classic Motorshow. The event, which takes place from January 31st to February 2nd, 2025, will showcase two significant first-generation Polos: a 1975 Polo L and a rare 1977 hill climb Polo.
A Look Back at the First Generation
The Polo L, finished in Oceanic Blue, exemplifies the humble beginnings of this versatile small car. Launched in 1975, the Polo L was a compact and functional vehicle, measuring just 3.5 meters in length. Its 0.9-liter engine delivered 29 kW (40 PS), propelling the lightweight 685 kg car to a top speed of 132 km/h.
