Pierrot Gourmand, over time, an unchanged recipe

Pierrot Gourmand, over time, an unchanged recipe

SHERIDAN, WYOMING – September 25, 2025 – Pierrot Gourmand, over time, an unchanged recipe

Why make things complicated when it’s so simple to get delighted! Since 1892, Pierrot Gourmand has kept its values that have made it well-known: indulging candy lovers, defending authenticity and true pleasures, but above all inviting children and adults to take time to dream and be over the moon...

In a hyperactive world where adults and children are over-stimulated and have no time to get bored, Pierrot Gourmand candies offer a delicious break. Some sweet minutes during which time stops, to let your imagination run free, and allow everyone to develop his/her creativity

That’s why, since 1924, Pierrot Gourmand makes sure of always following the original recipe of the legendary caramel lollipop, inherited from Georges Evrard’s know-how. A genuine, simple and gourmet recipe, made from fresh and quality products.

Poured in a traditional cast iron mold and engraved with “P.G.” initials, each lollipop is presented in a pretty paper wrapper decorated with a harlequin design, a poetic nod to Pierrot Gourmand story. Its biodegradable wooden stick and its recyclable paper wrapper confirm the commitment of the brand to protect the environment, for a sweeter future, for all.

And if Pierrot Gourmand recipes have won the heart of several generations, they are today proposed in new flavors, that remind the sweet flavors of childhood, and call adults and children to escape and discover new wonderful universes.

The new vegan pure without moo

Submitted by J. Mikhail on
The new vegan pure without moo

SHERIDAN, WYOMING – September 25, 2025 – 100% CREAMY MILD CHOCOLATE ENJOYMENT, 0% MILK
Waldenbuch, November 2021 - From January, Ritter Sport is expanding its vegan product range with a new variety: the 100 gram Vegan Pur without moo. Just in time for Veganuary 2022, everyone who wants to eat a purely plant-based diet can look forward to the perfect alternative to classic milk chocolate - mild and creamy in taste, but without any moo.

The company is thus picking up on the trend towards more conscious, sustainable enjoyment. The vegan market is booming, also in the chocolate bar segment. The Corona crisis has proven to be a clear booster. According to the current GfK household panel, there were 1.13 million vegans in Germany in 2020, 180,000 more than in the previous year*. Overall, vegan is a very important product feature** for 14.4 percent of consumers.

Simple, pure and sustainable

With the Vegan Pur without moo, Ritter Sport is targeting all chocolate fans who are looking for products with exclusively plant-based ingredients and for whom sustainability is an important aspect when choosing their food, but for whom chocolate should above all be one thing: really tasty. It only takes four ingredients for this: cocoa mass, partially de-oiled, high-quality almond flour, cocoa butter and sugar. Instead of milk powder, the flour of blanched Californian almonds is used for conching. As a result, the variety tastes particularly mild and creamy, comparable to classic milk chocolate. By completely dispensing with milk, Vegan Pur is also suitable for people with lactose intolerance.

The cocoa comes 100 percent from the Cacao-Nica program, with which Ritter Sport has been promoting sustainable cocoa cultivation in Nicaragua for over 30 years. As part of Cacao-Nica, the Waldenbuch chocolate manufacturer works closely with around 3,500 cocoa farmers. The aim of the program is to use sustainable cultivation methods to improve the yields and quality of the cocoa and thus increase the income of the farmers.

The Ritter Sport Vegan Pur without moo will be available in stores from January 2022 as a 100 gram square (RRP EUR 1.99).

ISM is back: 1,085 exhibitors from around 56 countries

Submitted by J. Mikhail on

The world's largest and most important trade fair for sweets and snacks will present new international products and a diversified event programme

After a two-year break, ISM 2022 is back with 1,085 exhibiting companies from 56 countries. The world's leading trade fair for sweets and snacks will present the entire product range - from chocolate, confectionery and biscuits through to snacks, trend snacks and natural snacks, ice cream, frozen sweets as well as breakfast snacks - on around 90,000 square metres of exhibition space at the Cologne fair grounds. With 213 exhibitors, ProSweets Cologne, the international supplier fair for the sweets and snacks industry, is once again being staged parallel to ISM. Together both trade fairs cover the entire value chain in the production of sweets and snacks, a unique constellation worldwide.

"After a two-year break due to the pandemic, we are delighted that so many of our clients have decided to participate at the trade fair in spite of these challenging times. Meeting up face-to-face with important trade buyers as well as winning over new customers is indispensable for our exhibiting companies. This is precisely what we consider our task to be, offering support in the form of corresponding formats and especially by staging ISM now bringing important markets as well as the supply and demand together," explained Gerald Böse, President and Chief Executive Officer of Koelnmesse GmbH.

Traditionally, both market leaders as well as medium-sized and smaller companies participate at ISM. With a foreign share of exhibitors of 87 percent, the leading global trade fair for sweets and snacks is maintaining a stable, international level. The foreign participations with the highest number of exhibitors come from Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Turkey and the USA. We are also noting a positive development on the buyer side after receiving a high number of registrations from important trade buyers, above all from Europe. Hardly any international buyers, for example from the Asiatic region, are awaited at ISM this year.

ISM will once again offer diversified product segments this year and will pick up on the industry's current trends. Alongside the traditional product groups, such as sweets and snack items ranging from chocolate products and confectionery through to ice cream, the industry's leading trade fair will also be presenting segments that focus on the themes snacking, to-go items, breakfast as well as gourmet products.

As a conceptual innovation there is going to be a specialised trade section focusing on the small volume business with sweets and snacks for the first time at ISM 2022, which is entitled "Finest Creations - hand-crafted". This exhibition section unites craft businesses, whose visitor target group comprises of confectioners, cake shops and specialised sweet shops. The new exhibition section will be located in Hall 5.2.

ISM with a hybrid concept
The leading global trade fair for sweets and snacks is treading new paths for the first time with its hybrid concept for the trade fair, which foresees the physical trade fair on-site in Cologne being additionally enhanced by the digital format, ISM & ProSweets @home. In addition to the Showrooms of the exhibiting companies, the digital counterpart to the exhibition stand, there are for instance target group-specific specialised stages such as the Expert Stage, which will provide valuable information and analyses on industry developments as well as interesting start-up pitches or panel discussions. The trade fair participants can engage in extensive networking opportunities on various specialist areas and fields of interest per audio, video or chat communication options. Beyond this, the digital platform offers a host of new opportunities for increasing one's international reach and participation models for the generation of leads and networking. The platform is available to the exhibitors and visitors from 01.-02.02.2022. All programme items will also be subsequently available on demand up until 30 April 2022.

New products and trends
Product innovations and trends are as always a central theme of ISM. In addition to a diversified event programme on the Expert Stage in Hall 5.2, the New Product Showcase on the Boulevard is the central port of call for innovations and a major attraction for all participating trade visitors. What's more, in the Start-up Area around 18 companies, which were founded no longer than five years ago, will present their ideas and concepts in the Trend Court in Hall 5.2. Also the new products tool on the ISM website is already offering initial interesting insights into the new products of the exhibiting companies. In the scope of the future congress "#CONNECT2030 in transition", together with ProSweets Cologne, ISM is placing its focus on the future of the sweets and snacks industry. The congress addresses suppliers, manufacturers and the trade in equal measures. The centre of attention lies on themes like saving resources, CO2 reduction, zero food waste and the effects of the climate change on the availability of raw materials.

Award-winning moments
The highlights of ISM include the presentation of the ISM Award for exceptional services within the sweets and snacks industry as well as the selection of the winners of the New Product Showcase on 30 January 2022.

ProSweets Cologne, the international supplier fair for the sweets and snacks industry, will once again be staged parallel to ISM. It offers a wide-ranging spectrum of services and products from the areas of raw materials and other ingredients, sweets packaging and packaging technologies, machines and facilities for the sweets industry, food safety and quality management. Together both trade fairs cover the entire value chain in the production of sweets and snacks, a unique constellation worldwide.

Koelnmesse is the organiser of ISM and its industry sponsor is the International Sweets and Biscuits Fair Task Force (AISM).

Submitted by J. Mikhail on

Safe trade fair experience due to the trusted hygiene concept #B-SAFE4business

In two weeks' time the trade fair duo, ISM and ProSweets Cologne, take off again at the Cologne fair grounds after a two-year break due to the pandemic. As the leading international events for the sweets and snacks industry, both trade fairs are must-attend dates for all relevant market participants, because the entire value chain - from the current trends and product innovations through to packaging solutions, production technologies and the latest ingredients and raw materials - can only be experienced here. The trusted #B-Safe4Business hygiene concept and the 3G concept, CH3CK, which optimally regulate admission for all of the trade fair participants with regards to COVID and thus ensures that they are completely safe. The new Corona Protection Ordinance of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, which is valid from 13 January to 9 February, additionally includes several essential new aspects for the trade fair business and continues to allow the conduction of trade fairs such as ISM and ProSweets Cologne. Both trade fairs are being staged from 30 January to 2 February 2022 and are exclusively open to the international trade audience.

"Both trade fairs live from the diversity. The high interest from a number of national and international companies for both trade fairs makes us optimistic that the re-start will be a success for us. The face-to-face contact is of course the core element of every trade fair. So that ISM and ProSweets Cologne are a successful and safe trade fair experience for all trade fair participants, we have taken all conceivable parameters and measures into account in the scope of our safety and hygiene concept #B-SAFE4business and constantly remain in close contact with the respective authorities. The safety and health of our exhibiting companies, trade audience and also of our own employees takes top priority," stressed Oliver Frese, Chief Operating Officer of Koelnmesse GmbH.

The current Corona Protection Ordinance of the State of NRW offers good framework conditions, which following the 3G principle, allows admission to both trade fairs to vaccinated, tested or recovered persons on presentation of legal identification (showing a photo, the name and date of birth). As a further element of the concept, ISM and ProSweets Cologne are offering the exhibiting companies, visitors, service providers and the media exclusively digital tickets. Admission to the fair grounds occurs following the "CH3CK" principle, our trusted admission system that unites the 3G proof with the digital ticket in a practical way per app, thus enabling a smooth entry process to the grounds. It is compulsory to wear a face mask on the entire fair grounds, while engaging in consultations at the exhibition stand, in the queues at the grounds and in the outdoor areas. The face mask can be taken off when sampling products and when seated in the food service areas.

Further measures include the placement of disinfection dispensers at all essential points of the grounds, the regular cleaning and disinfection of washrooms and other contact surfaces as well as the implementation of modern ventilation systems. The trade fair's food service areas will continue to be open to all trade fair participants under 3G conditions. This also applies for overnight stays of a non-tourist nature that are possible under 3G conditions. Non-vaccinated persons require a valid test. The 2G+ rules apply for visiting restaurants in the city, whereby people who have already had a booster vaccination don't require an additional test.
