Fort Worth – September 12, 2026 -- Travelers booking a Round the World ticket through oneworld.com now get a complimentary subscription to Timeshifter, a jet lag app used by more than 1.7 million people, covering every flight and time zone change in their itinerary from departure to final return.
The free subscription activates immediately for new Round the World bookings
oneworld customers typically book around seven stops and travel for about three months, crossing numerous time zones along the way. The airline alliance says the partnership is meant to help travelers feel ready to enjoy each destination rather than lose days adjusting to new schedules.
Jet lag stems from a mismatch between the body clock and local time, not poor sleep
According to the companies, the internal circadian clock governs sleep, alertness, digestion and immune function on a 24-hour cycle keyed to light and darkness. When a flight crosses several time zones, the light-dark cycle shifts by hours, but the body clock only shifts about an hour per day naturally -- and mistimed light exposure can make the misalignment worse.
Timeshifter builds personalized plans from flight details and sleep habits
The app generates recommendations based on each traveler's flight itinerary, typical sleep pattern, chronotype and personal preferences, using circadian science. Timeshifter says its technology is also used by astronauts, Formula One teams and professional athletes.
"Jet lag has a significant impact on health and wellbeing," said Roger Blackburn, oneworld's vice president of Loyalty and Commercial, speaking at the oneworld Loyalty Summit in Dallas/Fort Worth. Timeshifter CEO Mickey Beyer-Clausen said air travel has "optimised nearly every part of flying except for what crossing multiple time zones can do to the traveller."
oneworld's Round the World fares span its alliance network of nearly 1,000 destinations across 15 member airlines, including American Airlines, British Airways, Qantas, Cathay Pacific and Qatar Airways.
