Dallas – October 12, 2026 -- Southwest Airlines is offering up to 40% off base fares on select flights between Oct. 5, 2026, and March 3, 2027, but only if travelers book by Sept. 17 during its Week of WOW sale.

The sale started today and also covers hotels, rental cars and Getaways by Southwest vacation packages. Restrictions, exclusions and blackouts apply, seats, days and markets are limited, and the fare discount requires a 21-day advance purchase.

Five nonstop routes carry the 40% discount

Southwest named these nonstop routes as on sale at up to 40% off base fares on Southwest.com:

  • Austin and San Diego
  • Nashville and Chicago (Midway)
  • Denver and San Diego
  • Seattle and Nashville
  • Austin and San Jose

The discount is applied before government taxes and fees, and additional fees may apply.

Rental car and hotel deals run through Sept. 21

Travelers can save up to 15% off base rates on rental periods of three days or longer with Enterprise. The offer is valid at participating Enterprise airport locations for bookings made Sept. 14 to Sept. 21, 2026, with vehicle pickup through Dec. 15, 2026. Taxes and fees are excluded.

Hotel bookers can earn 3,000 Rapid Rewards bonus points or take a 3,000-point discount on stays through Sept. 30, 2027. Those bookings must also be made between Sept. 14 and Sept. 21, 2026.

Vacation packages cut up to $500 and include two free checked bags

Getaways by Southwest customers can save up to $500 on a five-night vacation package for two. The package includes two free checked bags, subject to weight and size limits. It requires a two-person, five-night minimum and a one-day advance purchase.

Rapid Rewards members get extra perks

Rapid Rewards members receive free WiFi on WiFi-enabled designated aircraft, courtesy of T-Mobile, where available. Members also get tier benefits and can earn points by flying or spending with eligible partners. They can purchase points toward a reward flight as well.

Sabrina Callahan, Southwest's Senior Vice President and Chief Digital & Marketing Officer, said the sale is meant to give customers more choice and flexibility for fall getaways, holiday visits and business trips.
