New York – September 22, 2026 -- Lemonade has launched its pet insurance product in Kentucky, giving pet owners in the state access to customizable accident, illness, and preventative care coverage through the company's app.
Kentucky becomes the 44th state for Lemonade Pet
With this rollout, Lemonade Pet Insurance is now live in 44 states plus Washington, D.C. Customers can get a quote within minutes and file claims directly through the Lemonade app, with the company touting payouts that can arrive in seconds rather than the weeks or months typical of traditional insurers.
Coverage extends beyond basic accident and illness plans
The policy covers diagnostics, procedures, and medications tied to accidents and illnesses. Customers set their own annual deductible, reimbursement rate, and coverage limit. Optional add-ons include vet visit fees, dental illness, physical therapy, behavioral conditions, and end-of-life expenses. A separate preventative care package -- including a version designed specifically for puppies and kittens under two years old -- covers routine wellness exams, vaccines, and bloodwork.
Multi-pet and bundling discounts are built in
Kentucky customers who insure more than one pet automatically qualify for a multi-pet discount. Those who pair their pet policy with Lemonade renters or homeowners insurance receive savings on both products.
Yael Cohen, SVP of Pet and Life at Lemonade, said the company built the product so customers pick coverage that fits their life and get paid "before you've left the parking lot" after submitting a photo of a vet bill.
